TNF Preview: New Orleans Saints at Atlanta Falcons

Well hi football fans! Welcome back as we start off another week in the NFL season! There’s a mismatch of epic proportions on Thursday night as the Saints head down to Georgia to take on their NFC South rivals (sometimes) the Atlanta Falcons. Can the struggling dirty birds hold down this potent offense? Let’s preview the next installment of Thursday Night Football!

(8-2) New Orleans Saints at
(2-8) Atlanta Falcons

After such high hopes were littering their preseason, the only littering the Falcons have been involved in is with the garbage they’ve been leaving all over the field. Roddy White is a shell of himself this season thanks to nagging injuries. Matt Ryan has been doing all of the heavy lifting, especially as Tony Gonzalez has been dealing with a toe injury. The only aspect of the team that hasn’t been dreadful is the passing game, but that’s a perfect example of inflated statistics, as they’ve been down in almost every contest. Their defense gives up over 130 rushing yards a game, something the Saints will exploit all night.

The Saints get to play in another dome! That can’t be a good thing for Atlanta. Drew Brees leads the second ranked passing attack in football, which when combined with the third best pass defense in football, makes for an intimidating opponent. Look for the Saints to rotate their running backs in and out, putting Mark Ingram, Darren Sproles, and Pierre Thomas in the best positions possible. And no one can forget Jimmy Graham, who will torch the Falcon linebackers. Watch this offense go to work.

Why you should give a crap:

We don’t always get the luxury of a true spanking in primetime. This should deliver everything Saints fans want and more. The Saints could put up forty in this game without breaking a sweat. And I’ll be glued to it. This could be entertaining as hell.

Gladiator

Yes, yes I am.

And there you have it! Another preview in the books. Enjoy the game everyone! I’ll be back this weekend with The Opening Drive of week 12!
